Choosing the Perfect Piece of Designer Clothing

By Cleverbuttons @cleverbuttons

If you spend wisely on something that you absolutely love and know you will get plenty of wear out of, then the answer most people will give you is a resounding yes when it comes to picking the perfect piece of designer clothing.

The thing about designer clothing is that you’re not just buying something to wear; you’re buying a piece of art – as OTT as that might sound to some people. But if you’ve ever been lucky enough to own a designer dress or suit you’ll know that there is something quite special about the way it makes you feel. Designer clothing is immaculately cut and sculpted to fit the body perfectly. The workmanship that goes into each piece simply cannot be compared to high street clothing and nothing but the very best fabrics and materials are used by designers.

Now, not everyone can afford to splash out on the haute couture that is paraded down the catwalks of Paris, Milan, New York and London fashion weeks. These exotic creations are usually the preserve of movie stars and millionaires, but most designers do produce more ready to wear ranges that the average Joe can afford. Gucci UK clothing is a good example of a range that has been produced by one of the most famous fashion houses in the world and yet is eminently wearable as well as being affordable.

Think of your designer clothing as an investment, and just as you would take your time choosing a piece of art for your living room wall, you should never make a rash decision when it comes to buying designer clothes. If possible get a friend or family member to go with you when you go shopping – someone who is brutally honest with you and will tell you straight out whether that little black dress or sharp suit jacket you have your eye on is really worth the money. It’s also a good idea to think carefully about the other things you have in your wardrobe and try and coordinate your designer investment with other things you know you wear a lot.

It might take you a while to save up the money for something really special, but if you opt for a classic piece there’s no doubt that you’ll get your money’s worth and feel amazing every time you put it on. You work hard for your money, you deserve to treat yourself every now and then and there’s no better treat than seeing a designer dress hanging in your wardrobe.
