Chocolate Gravy And Biscuits For A Saturday Breakfast

By Courtyb34 @CourtyB34
I was looking through my mom's cookbook, and found this recipe... it's from my old Culinary Arts class back in 7th grade! I wanted to make something this morning, and decided on Chocolate Gravy. Like all recipes I use, I tweak it to make it my own :) and that's what I did.

                    Chocolate Gravy

                      INGREDIENTS
             ~ 1 cup sugar
~ 1/2 cup and 2 table spoons flour
             ~ 1/3 cup butter
             ~ 2 cups milk
             ~ 1/2 cup cocoa.
~ 1 package of Pillsbury Grands!
Directions
Start by putting the Pillsbury Grands in the oven... the directions are on the package.

Next, Get the 1/3 cup of butter and put it into a sauce pan (Medium sauce pan) I started out with a small sauce pan and realized it was too small... so a medium sauce pan.
Melt the butter on the skillet, then remove from heat...

Then add in the dry ingredients....EXCEPT THE TWO TABLESPOONS OF FLOUR, just add in the 1/2 cup of flour for now...
Mix it all together over the skillet on LOW heat...
Then stir in the milk... add the first cup first... stir... and then add in the second cup...
At this time... by the time your add in both cups of milk... you will want to turn the heat up to about '8' or HI... use a whisk to thicken... and get out all the lumps. Now you can add in the two tablespoons of flour... It will thicken up on the bottom, all you need to do is take it off the skillet and whisk hard, that will get the lumps off the bottom and it will make it thicker, like gravy is supposed to be...
Lightly butter a Pillsbury Grand...
And ladle the chocolate gravy over the biscuits...

My mom said, "YUM, Courtney!" When she was eating her's this morning :) I was pretty happy. YUM!!!!
