Chocolate-Butterscotch Yummy Cookies.

By Chelsey5 @chelseysullivan

Many years ago a friend of mine shared a delicious cookie recipe with me.

I have always called them yummy healthy cookies.

Mostly because they are made with applesauce and wheat flour and…..I like to try to pretend I can have more than 2 or 4 or never mind.

For many years I have made these delectable treats for my family.

Now I would like to share this yummy recipe with you!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

2 eggs

1/2 cup applesauce

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

3 cups wheat flour

1/2 bag chocolate chips

1/2 bag butterscotch chips

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375.

Cream butter and sugars together.

Does that not look delicious!

2. Add eggs and applesauce, mix well

3. Have a cute little boy who wants to help pour your vanilla.

4. Get a pretty picture of the vanilla pouring.

If you’re weird like me.

5. Add salt and baking powder.

Pause again to take another pouring photo.

6. Have your helpful son pour in the flour. This will make him extremely happy.

7. Mix all together.

8. Add the most important part, the chocolate and butterscotch chips. MMMMmm. So yummy.

That is what I’m talkin’ ’bout!

CAUTION: After taking a photo of your delicious cookie batter do not look down and mess with your camera settings

because when you bring the camera back up to take a better photo you may encounter this……

This can happen to anyone who is not paying full attention to their helpful little son.

I am sure his intent was to test the batter for sufficient yumminess. Right?

Every baker needs a yumminess tester!

O.K. back to the recipe.

9. Ball up the dough and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

I use a pampered chef 2″ baller. A must have in my kitchen!

Don’t these look yummy!

They are Jude approved!

10. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes. You don’t want to over bake these. You want them to stay nice and soft in the middle.

Place cookies on a cooling rack and repeat until all the batter is gone.

If one cookie should happen to fall onto the counter and break apart I hope you know it is the duty of the baker to consume it. (Just don’t burn your mouth)

This is a picture of perfect doneness. Just slightly brown.

11. Last but not least, after cooling place your delicious cookies into a cookie jar.

If you have enough after the masses have come to steal them away.

My husband has a 6th sense , he always knows when the cookies have reached the perfect cooling point to pop one in his mouth without burning his tongue.

“It’s a gift,” he says.

I hope you bake these and enjoy them with your family.

With love from my kitchen to yours!
