There cannot be Chinese New Year celebration with out the famous and tasty " jiaozi ", dumplings!
This year I made them with Italian radicchio, ground beef, fresh mint, ginger, garlic and apple cider. Dipped in chili soy sauce, they were to die for!
After the big party of last night with my friends at Unico, this is what I needed today!
Here is the recipe.
Ingredients (serves 1):
- 100 gr ground beef
- 1/2 cup shredded radicchio
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 8 large leaves of fresh mint, minced
- 1 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cider vinegar
- 10 dumpling sheet
Grab some fresh radicchio
and shredded it
Add the ground beef
minced garlic
fresh ginger
mint (yes, you head me! No green onion, no parsley BUT MINT)
season with soy sauce and sesame oil...and of course some salt
and then add also 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar.
Mix all the ingredients together, they will smell delicious!
Grab the dumpling sheets (I bought them...did not make them this year...)
and place a heaping tbsp of filling in the center of each disc.
Lightly brush some water around the edges and seal them together
Cute, uh?
Boil you dumplings for 3-4 min or until they come up to the surface of the water. Meanwhile in a bowl place sliced chili and soy sauce.
Serve up your jiaozi immediately
and dip them into the spicy sauce...the chili will merry just wonderfully with the fresh flavor of mint and ginger.
Enjoy and happy year of the Goat!
Love
