Old border disputes between neighboring powers on the roof of the world. They were fueled in mid-June by an extremely rare clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Ladakh.
The clash left 20 dead on the Indian side and an unknown number of victims in the Chinese ranks. The deaths of Indian soldiers sparked outrage in their country.
“The situation continues to evolve towards relaxation and appeasement,” Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, told a regular press conference.
“The troops of the two countries in charge of the defense of the borders have withdrawn from most places. “
China and India are also preparing for a fifth round of talks between military commanders, Wang Wenbin said, without giving a timetable.
After the clash of 07 last June, senior officials of the Chinese and Indian armies met and agreed to work to appease the tensions.
Anti-Chinese sentiment has skyrocketed in India and has been accompanied by protests and calls to ban Chinese products in this country of 1.3 billion people.
The Indian government has since banned around 100 Chinese apps in the name of national security and data protection. Among them is the popular TikTok video sharing platform.
