The Chinese Embassy yesterday said China will gift 90 million RMB (5 billion LKR) worth of school uniform material to millions of Sri Lankan students to meet 70 perecnt of the whole country’s requirement in 2023.
All together 3,012,596.5 metres of material, about 10 times the distance from Colombo to Jaffna will be gifted.
A ship carrying the first batch (3 million metres of finished material in 38000 boxes via 20 containers has left China for Colombo.
