In MAX & RUBY AND TWIN TROUBLE, Max and Ruby are in for a big surprise. Mama has a baby in her tummy, and soon the family will be bigger and better. Luckily, Ruby knows all about babies: what they eat, how to bathe them, and where they come from. Ruby tells Max all about it. Soon, no one will be getting any sleep, but Max has an idea on how to help!
My Review:
When my boys were young, we loved all of the Max & Ruby books by Rosemary Wells. Considering that my last two boys are twins, I was especially excited to see that Max & Ruby have twin siblings, too! Max & Ruby and Twin Trouble is a wonderful book for introducing young children to the concept of expecting a new baby sister or brother (or both!). I love the humor (Ruby tries to tell Max that the babies are in Mama's tummy, but Max knows that his baby cousins always arrived in taxis!). And they practice taking care of a new baby with the help of a doll. And when Grandma comes to stay, Max finds out he was right: Mama and the babies arrive home in a taxi! Afterward, the whole family is very busy taking care of the babies, who are a lot of work! Just like a real family, adding a new family member creates a lot of changes. Children (and parents) will love the latest adventure in the lives of Max and Ruby!
