We definitely don’t look like the Whites in Santa Monica, CA but we certainly look like our predominantly non-indigenous Mexican brethren from Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Sonora, Baja California, Sinaloa, and Durango. And, the fact of the matter is, that a whole bunch of us are just as much into The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, The Henry Rollins Band, Social Distortion, and Nirvana as some others are into Mariachi, Banda, and Norteño music.
I could really dig hanging with some Mexican dudes into the Damned and the Sex Pistols. When I was a punker, there were definitely some Chicanos into the scene. No one gave 2/100 of a fuck that they were Mexican-American. They acted just like White people basically (except maybe for tighter families) ,and they were just like any other White person or White punker. It would be rude to refer to them as, “That Mexican.” It would be rude to even bring up their Chicanoness because it simply was utterly irrelevant to the type of people that they were.
Here in the Central Valley, yes there are many heavily-Indian Hispanics, but there are also many, many of them who are very White. Many are simply pure White. Others are very White. You would look at them, and it would be hard to point out any Amerindian in them. They could well be Spaniards or Italians. Also there are quite a few Italian and Punjabi chicks here, and to be honest, many of them look almost exactly like these Chicanas.
And to tell the truth, even the ones with more Indian in them are often totally assimilated and pretty much act just like White people (with some variations, see below). It is more a matter of what generation they are (1st, 2nd or 3rd generation) than the ratio of Indian to Caucasian blood. The only way that heavily assimilated Chicanos are different are:
- I strongly suspect that the women are just not that slutty. I don’t have any solid proof, but it seems like it would not be that easy to ball them. They seem like they would want at least a relationship. And to call an Hispanic woman a whore or a slut is a real insult, even in the assimilated ones.
- More marriage minded. They tend to marry fairly young, and they have kids pretty young, which is actually intelligent, at least the young women giving birth part is. The healthiest age for a woman to give birth is ~23.
- Love of children. These people really love their kids. I cannot emphasize that strongly enough.
- Strong families. They do have stronger families than White people. This is more of a good thing than a bad thing, and even drug dealers and gangbangers have a pretty solid family structure in behind them ready to have their back.
- Possibly more traditional male and female roles. Not necessarily a bad thing.
- Dislike for living alone. Chicanos think living alone is weird. If you do, they think there is something wrong with you or at least it must be horribly lonely. They are a collectivist and not an individualist people.
