A south suburban woman who claimed she accidentally shot her husband in the face as they were “playing” with a new gun in their kitchen faces felony charges for allegedly originally lying about the incident, according to police.Taking advantage of the McDonald decision, this young couple bought a gun for their protection. Then, being completely unfit and incapable of safely exercising that responsibility, the unthinkable happened. Still, all might not have been lost, many women get over the untimely loss of a husband. But, silly Desiree decided to lie to the cops.
Desiree Cook called police at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday and said her husband had been shot in the head by someone in the backyard of their home in Calumet City, according to police. Cook told police that her common law husband, Demetrius M. Marshall, staggered back inside after being shot and then collapsed in the kitchen, police said.
That's the one sure way to end up in jail after shooting someone by accident.
