I am a HUGE fan of nineties style and was so excited to style this slip dress! (BTW, I have a #lostfiles slip dress styled for Winter that I'll be sharing on the blog soon!) It's a little black dress which literally goes with everything and can take you through all seasons. A fab detail is a double criss-cross in the back which you can wear in front as Heather did.
We had the silliest conversation that day and compared ourselves to the Spice Girls. According to Cathy, she is "Old Spice", Heather is "Sexy Spice", I'm "Vintage Spice", and Brooke is "Haute Spice"!! Oh, that Cathy makes me laugh!
Cathy was casual chic wearing a tee under the dress and super cute leopard sneakers. She also added a fun scarf. Heather wore the dress backwards for an awesome neckline effect. Hop on over to her blog to see how she wore it with a bomber jacket too! I decided to wear mine with that vintage Chanel vest and gold mules; hence my nickname of "Vintage Spice"! Heather and I both thought this dress needed a choker! Brooke was cute and casual with a white vest and leopard sandals. I loved seeing how all of us dressed it so differently!
THE STYLE Rx: A slip dress or LBD is a wardrobe staple that can be styled dressy or casual and for summer or winter. (Stay tuned for the Winter!) If you aren't comfortable showing your arms, then you can wear a shirt under (like Cathy) or a jacket over it (like Heather).
How would you wear a slip dress? The first thought that always comes to mind is a tiara and red lips a la Courtney love in the 90s! So fun and she started the trend!
