Chic at Every Age // Slides

By Styleofsam @styleofsam

It's that time again... CHIC AT EVERY AGE . This week, we're styling slides (aka mules aka slip on sandals)!

For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds... a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I'm working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

The 20-something // Natalie of The Fashion Hour

The 30-something // ME!

The 40-something // Heather of

The 50-something // Cathy of The Middle Page

Photography // Becca of Beckley & C o

We all wore slides that were in our closet. I love that they are trending because I've worn them since the 90s! Natalie and I wore open toe slides while Heather and Cathy wore closed slides. They are such a fun way to change the look of an outfit because you can wear them with skirts, cropped jeans, and skinny jeans (as shown above). I also wear mine with flare jeans because they are so comfortable (but you won't be able to see them under the flares).

THE STYLE Rx: Slides are the shoe of Spring! Try a pair, and you'll be in style and comfy! There are so many different styles (flat, simple, embellished, pointy) that you'll be able to find the perfect pair for your own aesthetic!

Natalie looks gorgeous in her neutral white ensemble with tan slides. She is ready for Spring, and I love the relaxed vibe of her outfit! It was still chilly, so I paired cropped frayed jeans with a thin oversized sweater. To add some color, I wore fringe earrings and a pink bag. Heather looks so chic with her one-shoulder top and grey jeans. Her slides are so cool and have a lower block heel. Cathy is wearing my favorite look with that amazing button-up shirt, skinny jeans, and her Gucci slides! I'm obsessed!

BTW, Shopbop is having a pretty awesome BUY MORE, SAVE MORE sale where you can save up to 25% off full-priced and sale items. Now is the time to invest in some of those basics or "must-have" items that you've been eyeing but didn't quite pull the trigger on (because of the retail price). I'm loving statement tops, and this puff sleeve blouse is gorgeous to wear casually or for work. I also want to invest in one of these Caroline Constas tops since I am wearing off-the-shoulder so often!

This week started the Lenten season, and I'm doing the Dynamic Catholic Best Lent Ever program again. I start my day watching the videos and taking some time to reflect. Honestly, I'm having such a hard time waking up early like normal. Mr. S and I have been glued to Netflix watching Longmire. We finally finished the last episode yesterday, and I'm so glad. I don't have enough willpower to tell him, or myself, NO when the episode ends on a cliffhanger and the next episode automatically starts! One of my dear friend's newborn baby is in the hospital, so please pray for her family and son. Have a beautiful weekend, friends.
