Cheers To Chvrches ...

Thanks to Chrvches we've been informed of a new group who we're more than a little bit excited about. It's a shame really, that we didn't get in there a little bit earlier, but we'll deal with those consequences later and, in the meantime, sit and listen to the marvel that is You're The Best, by Wet.
It's quite plain to hear from the very beginning that these guys do things a little differently to the conventional pop band. The vocals have been largely distorted, contorted and changed about, though, not to the point that it's annoying ... that said, these vocals are the main instrument for the majority of the introduction. Then, after some more musicality actually takes place, the bravado from those vocals is taken away and a much prettier, and fuller sound is capable of showing its face.
It's easy to give comparisons to many names that have managed to make themselves known in the past year or so. This gives us hope that, alongside Chvrches, HAIM, and MSMR, the name Wet will be capable of causing the same stir in the industry.
There are two sides to this single. The sensual and more experimental side, and the old school pop-rock side. You'll notice that they blend beautifully well and the layering of vocals, music and just general genius of the whole arrangement is really pleasing to the ears and the mind.
We're absolutely sure that this group will be more than capable of making it in such a competitive industry, especially as some that we can compare them to are willing to share their wonderful sound. Cheers Chvrches!
