Forty-six artists will have their studios open this weekend (October 13 and 14) from 11 to 5 Saturday and Sunday for the Greater Ithaca Art Trail open studios weekend. Here are a few of the artists you need to check out:
Dede Hatch's photographs are her "personal souvenirs of the social, natural, architectural and canine landscapes seen with an eye for light and curious composition." She recently published a book of her photographs, "Soft Applause for the Day," with poems by Frank Robinson.
Jenny Pope makes colorful woodcuts that express her interest and research in "climate change, bird mythology, invasive animals and anything else in the environment that is both inspiring and disheartening."
John Lyon Paul is a sculptor and painter with a large studio housing over 300 artworks including the interactive installation, “Nagasaki Prayerwheel,” and many colorful paintings. His sculptures are made from wood, copper, bronze, concrete, lead, steel and cast paper. A visit to his studio is always an amazing experience.
