How is this cheating?
Cybercriminals usually give their targets missed calls. When a user calls back, they are connected to an expensive premium service. In some cases, the charges may be Rs 100 per minute or more. To avoid any doubt, these fraudsters often make repeated missed calls. If you receive a call from an international number, avoid it. Block that number immediately. Remember, if a number does not start with +91, it indicates that it is an international call.
Recently Jio has also sent detailed emails to its users about this scam. In the email, Jio warned that scammers are targeting individuals through missed calls from international numbers. If you receive such a call, do not call back by mistake. The company specifically warned about premium rate service scams related to these missed calls.
