Charles Ramsey is a Hero

Earlier this week, three Cleveland-area women were rescued from their kidnappers.  Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight had thought to have been killed by their abductors.  What their families didn’t know was that sick and perverted individuals were keeping the girls hostage for about a decade long.  Charles Ramsey, a neighbor to the resident scumbag who kidnapped the girls, rescued the girls.

Ramsey and Berry called law enforcement.  The other girls were safely removed from the premises and the child molester and his brothers were arrested.  As I have mentioned many times in previous posts I refuse to give these evil-doers anymore publicity.  I am a bit ticked that not only are their names repeatedly mentioned in the media but so are their pictures.  Personally, I don’t need to see their ugly faces one more time.  Our focus should be on the victims and how to prevent these situations in the future.  The unfortunate fact is that there are so many girls in this country that are held against their wills. 

I hope the media shines light on that sad fact.  Human trafficking is the little-covered atrocity running rampant in this country.  You might be surprised to learn that human trafficking is most prominently found in Washington D.C. no less.  Girls have been rescued just blocks from the White House.

This week I have decided to dedicate my praise of the week to Mr. Ramsey.  His bravery helped free these innocent girls.  Probably and incidentally a very endearing aspect of Mr. Ramsey was highlighted during an interview that has since gone viral.  The video is so popular in fact there even is a remix.

Ramsey has stated he doesn’t want anything rewarded to him.  I really hope he gets unlimited Big Macs from McDonalds.  J
