When it comes to designers with influence in the 20th century, Charles Eames was your man. And his unmistakable DSW chair was his piece de resistance. The undeniably simple construct was quite unlike anything else on the market at the time when Eames released it back in 1948 and the DSW chair was, in fact, the first industrially manufactured plastic chair. Charles Eames was without doubt one of the most iconic designers of his generation and along with his contemporaries like Arne Jacobsen, Harry Bertoia and Hans Wegner, shaped the world of furniture design as we know it today and it was pieces like devilishly stylish and Mad Men-esque DSW chair that were his standout pieces.
