Channing Goodness at White House Down Premiere in DC!

By Verybusymama @verybusymama
I'll just cut to the chase, last Friday was the premiere of the action comedy film starring Magic Mike and new daddy himself Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal and up and coming child actor Joey King — and fellow blogger, friend and Channing's Step Up co-star Angelica of Clarendon Moms and I were there.
What a way to start the weekend!

Excited is putting it mildly! But more than just sharing the same breathing space with the gorgeous and talented actors, I arrived in style thanks to the car service Uber DC and rocked a pair of sweet and sexy black open toe bow pumps given to me by The Shoe Hive. I certainly felt like a very pretty mama!
I did go out and look for a chic and classy number without any luck. In the end I dug out a black and white polka dot A-line sleeveless dress I had bought at Zara when I still lived in London (and never wore!), accessorized with the Stella & Dot Jolie necklace, a red clutch from Lou Lou Boutique and my pumps from The Shoe Hive.

Hosted by Denise and Melissa of The Moms, the "Mamarazzi" event included a reception at MATE, followed by an introduction to the film by the actors themselves then the screening. It definitely got a little hot in there!
While it was never confirmed there was going to be a meet and greet, it was certainly never denied (other Mamarazzi events have the bloggers meeting the cast of movies) and every single one of us in the room was left wondering, "will we, or won't we" get 30 seconds with the stars to snap a picture? As a PR myself, I know things don't always go as planned — and some things are out of your control. However I know that all of us there would have appreciated a little heads up.

Despite all of that, all was not lost and I enjoyed seeing my fellow blogger friends, how pretty we all looked and sitting right in front of the cast.
HELL YES I would have loved to have wrapped my arms around Chan (I can call him that) but just seeing him looking insanely sexy in his suit was good enough for me. I will say that my biggest regret was not being able to meet Maggie Gyllenhaal — I sadly missed her by a few seconds when I turned to speak to someone and she came by and into her car. The night ended with drinks at the rooftop bar of the The Graham Hotel then we Ubered it back home.
Oh and the movie...ehhhhh. Not my style. But the scene where the sprinklers come on and Chan gets soaked was pretty good. After that I don't remember much! But all kidding aside, it is full of cheesy one liners and lots and lots of shooting and explosions. Think Independence Day.
One thing is for sure, I really need to get out more!
¡besos!
