Champagne Lobster Fridays at Restaurant Bar and Grill

By Emma @glasgowfoodie

An indulgent way to celebrate Friday with The Restaurant Bar and Grill

Why don't lobsters share? Because they're shellfish! But here's a special deal that is worth sharing with a friend, partner or family member. At embers can now book in for The Restaurant Bar and Grill in Princes Square Glasgow, card m Champagne Lobster Friday. This offer is £45 per person based on 2 people sharing and includes a whole lobster each, house cut chips, bearnaise sauce and a full bottle of champagne to share.

We headed up to the 2nd floor of Princes Square for a Friday feast. It was busy both inside and out, with a DJ playing some tunes as guests looked forward to the weekend.

What did we say about sharing? Well, this isn't half a lobster per plate, oh no, this is a full lobster each. Grilled and all ready to eat with sauce, chips, lemon and finger bowl provided. If you want to do it right implements have to be provided and here lobster crackers lobster picks are also part of your arsenal for getting stuck into, and picking out all the juicy meat!

Lobster is so often a disappointment in restaurants, tasteless and not enough meat. Not these, oodles of moist meat which has been chargrilled plus clawfuls of meat to keep even the belly of a Mr Foodie happy.

Big decision time... to dunk the chips into the Bearnaise sauce or keep it purely for lobster meat?

These were big blighters and were big enough that we even doubted ourselves ordering a dessert!

But of course having a separate dessert stomach we ordered! A cherry bakewell tart with clotted cream for Mrs Foodie....a good dollup of cream at the side of a warm spongy tart.

Chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream for Mr Foodie. Fluffy sponge and smooth chocolate. Mrs Foodie assumes that it tasted good, she didn't even get offered a spoonful to try!

A fabulously indulgent and romantic dinner for two. The rich sweet flesh of the lobster enhanced by the tangy, buttery bearnaise sauce. Not forgetting the accompanying champagne with its honey and apple flavours, easily drinkable on its own as well. 😍👍

TL;DR

+ Looks good and tastes great

- Could do with a bigger portion of sauce (fed this back to staff)
