I am so thankful for my family, friends and people who I have met from over the years! Even those who I have not yet met in person but have had the pleasure of meeting through my blog all make a difference in my life. It is also the time of year to give back in order to show our thanks! I met Nancy Silverman years ago when I was commissioned to paint a Chinoiserie scene in her dining room. We became instant friends. Nancy is a genuine person who would give you the shirt off her back! Nancy's son Jake became diagnosed with dystonia a few years back and it was and still is a long hard road because there is no definite cure, just surgery to help with symptoms. Even through the hard times that Nancy endured she still made herself available to others. Please take the time and check out Bachmann-Strauss Foundation, you may have or know of someone who has this illness and may not even know it. The only way to find a cure is through research, so every penny counts! If you live in Shorthill's or the surrounding area area and are familiar with Shorthills Mall please come and shop at the Tory Burch boutique 7 to 9pm on December 6, 2012. 10% of the proceeds will benefitJakes Ridewhich helps with research and outreach for those with Dystonia. also, those who attend receive 10% off of their purchase!Have a great Thanksgiving! xoKarolyn
