By Wuthrich

14-16 March 2013
Department of Philosophy, Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, IN

The PhiloSTEM workshop continues the tradition of a friendly and open exchange of ideas and work in progress. We cordially invite submissions presenting novel contributions submissions in the Philosophy of Science, the Philosophy of Technology or/ Engineering, and or the Philosophy of Mathematics (STEM). Submissions addressing historical aspects of the STEM areas from a philosophical perspective are also considered.
Since the emphasis is not on “reading” a paper but on a having a dialog with the participants, presentations should be prepared for a general audience in the philosophy of science and presenters must be ready to break things down for non-specialists. Presentations will therefore have a workshop character and may take 90 minutes or more.

Please, submit either a paper of 3000 words or a 1000-word extended abstract addressing a philosophical aspect of the STEM areas. Submissions addressing historical aspects of these areas from a philosophical perspective are considered. Prepare your material for double-blind reviewing and submit it together with a 150-word abstract through EasyChair: http://tinyurl.com/submission-philoSTEM5

Deadline: February 15
