CES 2014 Las Vegas

Manufacturers of consumer electronics are ready to impress us with their new products. There will be over 3,200 exhibitors and 152,000 participants from over 150 countries, including journalists and influential bloggers. This is a perfect opportunity for those who want to keep up with the latest technology and networking.

Samsung

Since MWC 2014 is near, many smartphone and tablet manufacturers decided not to reveal their latest flagships but to wait for February 24 when Mobile World Congress will start off in Barcelona, so do not expect to see much from Samsung, Apple, HTC, Nokia, Motorola at CES.

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2

Although we will not see the next Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 at this event, Samsung plans to introduce some innovation in their Smart home field, photography and wearable high-tech. Even before the press conference, Samsung revealed their latest Android-powered Galaxy camera, simply called Galaxy Camera 2. It comes with the slim design, 21 X zoom lens and large 4.8-inch touchscreen LCD display. What is more, Samsung added a faster quad-core processor, more memory, more powerful battery and a more recent version of Android (4.3). Galaxy Camera 2 includes some the most advanced Samsung Smart features, such as a “selfie alarm”, Wi-Fi built-in (with NFC) and more. Another thing we can expect from Samsung is their Galaxy Band, a monitoring health and fitness band that can track calories burned, distance walked etc.

Smartphones and Tablets

As for these smart devices, what we can expect to see this time at CES are mini versions of LG G2, as well as the international version of Sony Xperia Z1 Mini. LG G2 Mini will probably come with similar specs as its bigger brother, like a Snapdragon 800 processor with 2 GB of RAM, a 13 mega-pixel camera and the display of 1080p.

In addition, LG plans to announce their first curved device G Flex for at least three US carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint) at CES. Another exciting device from LG that might appear at CES is dubbed “G Arch”, the first smartwatch from this South Korean company. It might come alongside a health-tracking wristband referred to as “G Health” as well.

Sony Xperia E2

Sony plans to reveal their 6-inch phablet with an octa-core SoC and the entry-level Sony Xperia E2, but there is no doubt that the Xperia Z1 mini will be in the spotlights of the show. Although it represents a smaller version of Sony Xperia Z1, it is said to be equally powerful. Another product that we can expect to see is the third generation of Sony smartwatches.

ZTE has already revealed the devices that will be shown off at the CES in Las Vegas, so they left no room for surprises. ZTE Nubia Z5S and Z5S Mini will be displayed, along with the ZTE Grand S2 phablet with intelligent voice controls, the BlueWatch smartwatch, and more.

Lenovo Horizon 27 Tablet

When it comes to tablet devices, Acer has already unveiled their new 7-inch tablet – Iconia B1-720 with its dual-core 1.3 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage which can be expanded via micro SD card. Lenovo introduced their giant tablet, Horizon 27, a 27-incher with a resolution of 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, running under Windows 8 with Intel Core i7 and Nvidia GeForce 840M.
