I'm not sure a few years after getting married that Zach and I continued to celebrate the day that we first started to date. Do people even do that anymore? For me, fall seems to always bring back those butterflies of really getting to know my now husband.
We actually met a few months back in the Spring when we had a similar class together. Although we only exchanged a few words here and there, I felt like there really was something special about him but put it off as nothing. I stated the summer with a clean slate of recently breaking it off with my then fiance ( long story ) and had a great time being single and truly finding peace with myself.
I came back to college, my junior year, ready and eager to take on the weeks ahead. I remember walking into an Education course and seeing Zach's face and an open chair next to him. I plopped down right next to him and we immediately began talking about our summer, trips we had gone on and how the year was going to be a great one! A few weeks went by and he asked me to come to one of his football games that our school was hosting. I'm not one to enjoy football (opps ) but I brought a few girlfriends along and we supported the team.
Fast forward a few weeks later and it was ME who wanted to be official with this cute guy. Right?! And then a few months later, Zach admitted that he truly was falling in love with me and I said it right back after only two months. TWO MONTHS you guys! I firmly believe you meet the right person at the right time and we both had felt like it was meant to be.
I think everyone thought we were crazy but here we are, 10 years later on this very day; married for the past five years, 2 adorable children, 2 cats and one amazing and incredible life. I truly could not have been more blessed to have this guy by my side through all the struggles, the celebrations, the heartache and the blessings we have been given.
