CD Review: Pacific – What Are You Waiting for

Cheshire based four piece Pacific bring out their special brand of alt-pop led by some sensational pianos and a heap of passion. Comparisions with the likes of Coldplay and the Killers are inevitable, but the band have taken the alt-rock/Brit-pop sound an added their own twist to bring out their own sound, which is shown off in great style across these four tracks.

'Time to forget' is a lively and vibrant indie pop tune. There are elements of ska, Brit-pop and various other sounds mixed into the background sound creating an interesting and unique sound full of subtle twists. On top of this the tunes are infectiously catchy and jump around with great energy.

'Catch her if you can' brings in a spacey sound courtesy of a deep and intriguing atmosphere. 'Run away boy' brings in a dancey vibe sounding somewhere between Duran Duran and Elton John. The music races along with great excitement and pzazz. The EP closes with the indie rock / 80s pop hybrid sounds of 'Those nights' finishing off the collection nicely!

This is a very nice EP consisting of four energetic yet heart felt tunes that have all the elements great pop tunes should have plus a little bit more!
