Caterpillar to Butterfly - No MUSHY Chrysalis Mid-phase

here's an example of the way kids are taught to understand what happens inside a chrysalis, "The caterpillar makes a cocoon of silk around it that hardens, the caterpillar liquifies then the butterfly forms from that 'soup' before emerging."
NOT SO: recognisable structures remain intact showing certain essential control structures (certain major organs, like the trachea and lungs) don't go mushy, they're just carried over from the caterpillar to butterfly transition...
