The catch of the day was also my new Portuguese word for today: perca, which means perch.
I may have eaten perch before, but I don’t remember it at all. I’m sure I’ve eaten more fish since moving to Portugal than all previous years combined, so it may well be that my only perch experience was a Portuguese one. In any case, whether my mother-in-law is serving fish to follow a cultural tradition or for health reasons (or both) results in lunches like this one.
I had a rough week and Daylight Saving Time just kicked in, so comfort food was more than welcome this weekend.
