Some signs that we are finally living in the future: Virtual reality headsets are finally a real thing, SpaceX routinely lands rockets vertically, and data storage has gotten so cheap and plentiful that I literally can't remember the last time when I was worried about running out of space. Case in point, if you need to add an external hard drive to your computer or game console, you can usually get yourself a 3TB USB drive (that's terabytes with a T) for around $ 90. However, you can get one at Target today Western Digital 3TB Elements USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive for $ 70 , a savings of $ 20.
I have used Western Digital external drives for years and have never had hiccups. This drive is compact, measures 3.2 x 4.4 x 0.6 inches and weighs just under 8 ounces. It supports USB 3 and is backward compatible with USB 2 devices. With USB 3, up to 5 Gbit / s can be transferred.
Of course, keep in mind that this is an actual spinning hard drive - it is not an SSD. I suppose that's pretty obvious from the price, but only needs to be clarified in case there are any ambiguities. Still, this is a great price for a reliable external drive so I don't assume the deal will last long. This can sell out quickly.
