We're back at celebrating, so here's another charming musical contribution to carpe carmina's birthday bash. Two years, that's indeed something worth throwing a party for!
Feeling at home with electrifying, invitingly harmonious pop music and uplifting, honest lyrical narrations, london based singer/songwriter Emma Harrop decided to (rekindle her inner heroine and) bestow Alesso's & Tove Lo's upbeat electronic anthem 'Heroes (We Could Be)' with a new tonal guise - the outcome is a soulful and vibrant acoustic gem!
It's been in april 2013 when Emma Harrop, who has been on a break with all-girl rock band My Heroine, decided to create her own facebook page to share romantic-centred and brisk (acoustic) pop songs, when she announced her first solo gig at Vibe Bar in Shoreditch. Around the time carpe carmina was originated, the spirited singer-songwriter focused on writing new (blithe, sensitive and lyrically enchanting) songs and filming live session videos while only relying on her strong, passionate voice and the dynamic sound of an acoustic guitar. Emma soon moved on to perform at open mic nights, played gigs steadily and elaborated her songwriting skills which eventually led to her signing with DTSE Music and planning her debut release for 2015/2016. For those who can't wait to add a song of hers to their daily playlist, there's Itunes, which features a few singles of hers worth listening to and purchasing, such as ardently glowing, vivifying 'Ex Girlfriend' and infectiously emotional, dreamily echoing yet powerfully driven 'Be With Me'.
What does Emma Harrop have to say about carpe carmina and this milestone? "I love Nessi's poignant and colorful reviews, she has a beautiful way with words that really captures the essence and spirit of great music. "
