Caretaker Government Refused to Order Musharraf Treason Trial

The caretaker government on Monday refused to try former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for treason under Article 6 of the Constitution citing it is not its mandate.

The apex court expressed strong annoyance on government’s stance. Justice Jawaad S Khawaja remarked that the court had been seeking an answer for the last eight days and today the government said that nothing would be done. He further said that it has been acknowledged that nothing will be happened in future.
