Dominica, aka The Nature Island. Lush greenery everywhere you look, beautiful waterfalls, and friendly locals give the island a completely different vibe altogether.
When visiting Dominica on a cruise you must take on one of the many various nature-centric activities/tours that are available. Although like most Caribbean islands there is no shortage of great beaches, but the magic of Dominica is inland as I found out when I took the Middleham Falls hiking tour to view the prettiest of waterfalls (You can read all about that trip by clicking here).
Another must do activity when touring the Caribbean is to try and taste the various local beers, just as I had the chance to drink Kubuli a rather strong yet delicious beer after the hike.
Dominica is another one of those islands that demands a little more time than just a day. It has a lot to offer especially with the various activities that you can partake in. Although the natural beauty of Dominica is hard to experience merely through photographs, but here, once again, I try and give you a glimpse at what you might be missing by not visiting this natural paradise (more photos are part of the Middleham Falls post)...
