Captain America Blogathon

Captain America aka Steve Rogers missed a lot when he was frozen between 1943 and 2011. The idea of this blogathon is to pick 10 films between those years that he should watch to catch up on what he missed out on! I was trying to come up with a format on picking my choices at first I thought Best Picture Oscar winners, but then I decided against that and would pick Best Picture nominees from over the years, so the films which did not actually win the Oscar.

So here we go with my 10 choices . . .

1951 – A Streetcar Named Desire

A film with incredible acting and the key to it all is desire and how this can drive you pretty much crazy.

1962 – To Kill A Mockingbird

One of the best stories and films out there still today.

1964 – Mary Poppins

It would just be a sad world if you had never seen the all singing all dancing nanny!

1976 – All the Presidents Men

The Watergate scandal is something you would need to catch up with and what better way than an intense film with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman?

1989 – Field of Dreams

One of the best sports films of all time . . . build it and they will come.

1994 – Pulp Fiction

An absolute classic with some incredible scenes!

1997  - As Good As It Gets

Jack Nicholson showing that he really is the best in this comedy/drama.

2000 – Traffic

Just showing that drugs can be a very big problem!

2002 – The Hours

Having a look at aids and sexuality of women.

2005 – Brokeback Mountain

Sexuality of men, cowboys even.

BONUS – 2008 - Iron Man

Sorry I could not resist and just had to put this one in to pretty much amuse myself if no one else!
