Capsicum Biriyani
Capsicum Biriyani is a yummy one pot meal. I love one pot meal. It makes morning cooking easy. Capsicum is tasty, healthy and available. I include them all day as gravy, stir fry, pulao. Tried to make biriyani and it just tasted too good. Preparation Time: 10 minutes Serves: 3 Cooking Time: 20 min Waiting Time: 10 minIngredients: 300 g of white rice a handful of mint leaves 1 inch cinnamon 2 nos cardamom 1 teaspoon of poppy seeds 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste 1 onion thinly sliced 2 capsicum roughly chopped 1 carrot julienned 2 tomatoes chopped 1 teaspoon garam masala 1 tablespoon chilly powder salt as per taste 100 ml vegetable oil 700 ml water for cooking water for soaking rice
Method:
Add onion and cook till onion turns golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell leaves.
Add chilly powder and garam masala.
Fry them well and add chopped onion.
Let the water boil well.
Once the water begins to boil add rice and pressure cook for 12 minutes in medium flame.
After 12 mins, put off the flame and let the pressure come down.
Open the Pressure cooker and stir gently. serve hot.
Let the vegetables turn crisp before adding other ingredients.
Add rice only after water boils well, this will give non sticky cooked rice.
