If you are fans of The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, they have a good news. They have significantly updated its Facebook status by launching the ability for patrons to purchase tickets directly through the leading online social media network. The organization is the first in Canada to launch ShoWare™ Social Media Connect, enabling fans to further engage with its brand in new and meaningful ways.

ShoWare Social Media Connect allows venues to get the most from the social media revolution by selling tickets directly from its Facebook fan page with real-time inventory management and credential validation. Built-in sharing features help venues gain “followers” on Twitter and “fans” on Facebook and ultimately boost sales.

“Engaging fans on Facebook has become an increasingly core strategy of ours. Now people can buy tickets right from Facebook rather than have to leave and come to our site, so it’s one less step for them,” said Marylou Bennetts, Director, Marketing and Sales for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. “The addition of Facebook ticketing is another way we can interact with our patrons and generate a positive customer experience.”

Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra created its Facebook page three seasons ago, and has used it as an active part of its overall communications strategy by posting information about the orchestra and encouraging interaction with its fans. They currently have more than 2,000 fans and expect that the Facebook ticketing capability will encourage more growth.
