Cafe Trama in the 6th: What a Fun, Affordable Place in a Snooty Nabe.

6.9 Le Cafe Trama, 83, rue du Cherche-Midi in the 6th, 01.45.48.33.71, closed Sundays and Mondays (Metro: Vaneau) looks like just another one of these corner joints catering to Bon Marche-types who want a coffee and salad - but unh unh.  The carte while heavy on firsts and bio-natural-etc wines has something for everybody and the huge friendly team who sat for a group photo (including Marion Trama, he's thebig guy) couldn't have been more accommodating.

My academic cousin, schlepping over from the 1st, ordered the heirloom tomatoes with feta and dressing - very varied & good, and I had the rillettes, equally satisfying.

Then he had the knife-chopped tartare of beef from Desnoyer supposedly with Thai flavoring that he had to add mustard to, to make it come alive and I had the Morteau sausage with potatoes which appropriately required the mustard.

We finished up with a "soup" of various types of peaches which was lovely, tasty and bursting with flavor.

Our bill, with two apero-wines, a bottle of red from the Vaucluse, no bottled water, two digestif-wines and one coffee, was 97.50 E.

Go?  You should but given the carte, I suspect Colette will not.  81.1 dB
