So the burger craze is going off in Manchester! The city now welcomes big chain burger restaurant Byron. Byron is all about serving ‘proper’ hamburgers with less fuss and no frills (except the pickle on the side). The term proper associates with quality sourced meat from Scotland cooked the proper way to bring out the premium flavours as well as proper squishy brioche buns to compliment the flavours.
Byron is located in the city center of Manchester just off King Street (further up from House of Fraser). I believe the restaurant before was called Pesto?!
The décor in and out is bright and eye catching so you definitely won’t miss it. It has a rustic feel to it with its open plan ceiling and furniture but I thought this went well with Byron’s identity.
French Fries (£2.95): you can never go wrong with burger and friesCourgette Fries (£3.25): one of my favorite sides and it didn’t have the bitter taste courgettes usually have!Coleslaw (£2.75): was quite disappointed by this as the mixture was quite watery and it had way too much black pepper in it. Onion Rings (£2.95): these were humongous and very yummy! Macaroni Cheese (£3.50): was a bit tasteless for our liking but was cheesyHouse Salad (£3.50): always need a bit of greenery on the table and it kind of made me feel guilt free for eating a burger =P
All in all myself and my guests enjoyed our experience at Byron, the restaurant and the staff were both welcoming and the food definitely did live up to our expectations. Plus for that price, you cannot go wrong with what you order and the quality of the meat was succulent and tastier than those all frilled up fussy burgers. So maybe, its best to go for something simple sometimes. Finally, the pickle on the side went down a treat after our bellies were full =D
