Butterfly Train

Summer is long gone. The birds have taken flight. It is time for the butterfly train, to follow the sun on to paradise

This is my last time around. My last stanza, withered and brown. My fall has come and  I’m traveling with the leaves

Their color lost and dried, their beauty now history

Soon Winter’s blanket will cover the dead. A snow-white cover, a beauty cold as death

I will see the light of God, within me He shines.

His light a warm glow, I can see it, just up ahead

This moment leaving me breathless, I can see Him with His arms open

Bringing me in, calling me home

Before Him I will bow down, I will see the scars upon His  feet

I will kiss each one, knowing there are many more.

For every scar upon His body were due to you and me

So that we might be saved,  He gave willingly,

So I might be here, at this time and on this day

Who am I to mourn my death? Who am I to cry?

My shame overcomes me, as I looked into HIs eyes

I kicked and screamed, trying to hold onto life

But He awaits, to welcome me in

I still do not know why I had to die

But who am I to question, the God of all man?

If He chooses not to heal me, He must have a plan

As I make Heaven my home, soon I will understand

I will ask Dear Father, to bless those who cry for me

Please send them each a butterfly and know I am happy and free

I will watch over each and everyone, I will always be by your side

Whenever they see the butterfly, May you always think of me
