Celebrating Burns Night at The Trading House, Glasgow
At the end of last year, The Trading House in Glasgow opened its doors and we had a peek in on one of their media days (check it out here). We were invited back to try out their Hanging Haggis Kebab for Burns Night and with Mr Foodies love of haggis as well as being intrigued by how it would hang, we ventured along.
The interior of the larger eating area at the rear has been given a bit of a makeover with some driftwood and flotsam additions to the lighting and ceiling, creating a more cosy feel.
To honor Rabbie, The Trading House have created two cocktails.
It wasn’t long until we saw the Hanging Haggis. It definitely was hanging!
Haggis Kebab £12.95 / 50% off if booked through link These were like little Dutch croquettes (Kroketten) A crisp coating filled with haggis. The haggis was a little chewy but flavoursome and not fatty. Even Mrs Foodie ate them all up, and she’s a bit of a huffy haggis eater. We had no idea lemon juice went with haggis , but it did. Creamy mash doused in a peppery whisky sauce kept the prospect of dry croquettes at bay.
Did we have room for pudding? Of course we did!
The dinner was accompanied by some lovely music, an excellent beer selection and helpful staff.
TL;DR
+The haggis and creamy mash
+ Beer selection is worth a trip in itself
-Bigger prawn cocktail portion please!
