Bundesliga: HC Category Awarded to Bad Salzdetfurth

For the first time KMC MTB Bundesliga finals in Bad Salzdetfurth will be hold in UCI’s HC category. So the event on September 13/14 2014 will be one of the highest valued events below the world cup events.  
 
Since 2006 Bad Saldetfurth is a part of the German cross country calendar. 2010 and 2013 the town in middle mountains area called Harz hosted the German national championships, six times the event was part of the KMC MTB-Bundesliga International.
 
The event is praised for an attractive and spectator friendly course as well as for the ambience with start and finish in the center of the picturesque town scenery. Not less world class riders are talking about Bad Salzdetfurth as one of their favorite races.
Olympic champion and record world champion Gunn-Rita Dahle-Flesjaa (Multivan-Merida) from Norway in 2011 was talking about a “great atmosphere� and “having a lot of fun� riding the course.
 
Currently UCI has five one day HC races in the calendar for 2014. The BiketheRock festival in Heubach is also one of them and so the KMC MTB-Bundesliga is the only series world wide to have two HC races int the calendar.
 
“We are of course very happy to be awarded with this high status. That addes more attractiveness to the event and it’s a kind of additional motivation for us to improve the event in the futureâ€�, comments Thomas Kasten, head of organizing committee.  
 
Together with European championships in St. Wendel and the UCI world cup in Albstadt Germany in 2014 hosts four high ranked cross country events.
