Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea hiked recharge plan prices last July. But BSNL did not follow that path. And the government telecom company got the result. According to TRAI's July report, while the three major private telecom companies lost customers, BSNL gained millions of new customers. So far the opposite was seen. Let's find out what comes out of TRAI's report.

BSNL gets 29 lakh new subscribers in July

TRAI recently released subscriber data for the month of July. The report showed that Jio lost around 7 lakh subscribers that month. And 16 lakh people said goodbye to Airtel. On the other hand, 7 lakh customers have stopped using Vodafone Idea SIM. But surprisingly, BSNL got 29 lakh new subscribers last July.

TRAI's report also said that last July, 1.3 crore customers applied for number porting. Earlier last June 1 crore 10 lakh people applied for number porting.

Why did BSNL's subscribers increase in July?

It goes without saying that BSNL has benefited from the increase in recharge plan prices by private telecom companies in July. Because they are still providing the service at the old price. So people have adopted BSNL to get services at low cost.

BSNL's 4G Network Announcement

Besides, another big reason for BSNL getting new customers in July is the announcement of 4G network launch. BSNL is currently installing 4G towers at a fast pace. They have already completed the installation of 25,000 towers. BSNL wants to launch 4G services in the country by June-July next year. As a result, customers expect 4G network services to be available at affordable prices in the future as they are now.
