I made a point of going down to see couple of great local businesses that are worth mentioning. They're both run by women and they're both based on fantastic handmade skills. Handmade businesses and women in business are both things I'm passionate about so I thought I'd tell you a bit more about them here.
The first is Homemade Mama, run by Kimberlee, who teaches knitting and was at the event teaching children to knit and promoting her new knitting courses. Remember Kimberlee? She wrote this great post for the blog and if you're new to knitting or just want to learn some more complex techniques, she's your girl. I love this knitted bunting - how sweet is it? You can find out more about her courses here and even buy the pattern from her to make your own.
The second is The Spoon Fools. Best friends, bookworms and cake obsessives, they've been popping up all over Bristol events this summer and let me tell you, their experimental cake is delicious and these ladies are VERY funny to boot. Check out their post about Za Za Bazaar and pick up some chilli shortbread biscuits when you next see them out.
