Breed Gallery: Basset Hound

By Hundidocom @hundidopuppy

Known for being naturally well-behaved, Basset Hound is a dog breed that was used for hunting small game like rabbits. Up until these days, this dog breed is still used for this kind of activity, particularly in some parts of France. When not hunting, Basset Hound is pretty much a laid-back canine pet who adores and loves to play with children. - source

The particular breed of dog is recognized for its solid hunting instinct and, if given the chance, will pursue or stick to a scent voluntarily.

Due to its gentle, non-confrontational character, the Basset is used to hunting in packs or even alone.

To keep a Hush Puppy healthy and illness-free, daily long walks as exercise is needed. As much as possible, steer the Basset clear from jumping to avoid stressing his legs.

The Basset Hound is charming, mellow, and devoted dog. The breed fits into family life very well.

Train kids to never approach any dog while he’s asleep or eating or to try to take the dog’s food away. Even sweet Basset Hounds can be vicious once provoked.
