Mothers breastfeed their newborn babies at a ward of the Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila. The government has proclaimed the month of August of every year as the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month in order to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding in the Philippines as the normal, natural, and preferred method of feeding the infants and young children.
