Wow, chalk this up to the “didn’t see that one coming” category.  Cumulus Radio, the second highest radio broadcaster in the country, is apparently preparing to drop conservative radio hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from its 40 radio stations.

The news sounds more like its directly related to the costs of the two performers as opposed to them being dropped for any political reason but it is still a blow to the controversial hosts.  There has been a bit of rift between Cumulus and Limbaugh when rumors were swirling that Limbaugh was preparing to leave the broadcaster after Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey indirectly blamed their revenue decline to Limbaugh’s controversial remarks on activist Sandra Fluke.

I would expect Michael Savage, another conservative firebrand, to step into one of the slots that will be opened up but still; good news for the Stop Rush movement.
