Brand Protection Fail: This Weeks TM Domains Brands Let Drop & Get Registered Boeing; NCAA; ESPN Google AP & More

Posted on the 17 August 2013 by Worldwide @thedomains

We have written over the years about brands, brand protection companies and dropping domain names which both brands and brand protection companies continue to miss.

Not only do they miss grabbing them but they don’t even seem to try.

Its pretty interesting sitting on the sidelines every week seeing companies spending $1,500 a pop to file a UDRP on a single domain name (plus attorneys fees) on the same type of domain names that are dropping and can be picked up for $69 on a back order or sometimes even $10 on a registration.

As always these are not even typo’s but pretty bang on domain names.

Here is this weeks TM registrations:

KodakTheater.com home to the Academy Awards is parked at Sedo and listed for sale with Make Offer.

NCAAnews.com: just in time for college football this domain dropped and was re-registered by Hugedomains.com and is on sale for $1,199

GooglesStatistics.com going to a Godaddy Placeholder

UsAirwaysFlightStatus.com going to a parked page.

ESPNSportsbook.com: When it comes to sports there is no bigger name than ESPN so the domain name ESPNSportsbook.com would be a place people would feel pretty comfortable about putting some money down to bet on their favorite team.  In this case your in luck because even thought the domain name just dropped this month there is already a sportsbook site on the domain.

Go Gators.

One of the leading newspapers in the country the Chicago Tribune missed out on the bang on domain name TheChicagoTribune.com when it dropped this month.  Not to worry the domain name is comfortably parked.

If you’re like me, I like the convenience of my Keurig coffee maker when i first wake up.

I can pop in a prefilled cup and get a cup of hot coffee in just a few seconds so the domain name Keurigcups.com would be a perfect fit for the company, unfortunately the domain name just dropped and  Keurig missed out on getting the domain name for less than the cost of a sample box of one of its coffee’s.

The Associated Press, one of the leading new organizations in the World let the domain name AssociatedPressNews.com drop just to be picked up by a third party. The domain name is parked at ParkingCrew.com

One of the highest rated appliance manufactures in the world is Viking and they missed out on the domain name VikingCooktops.com which dropped and was picked up by HugeDomains.com and is now available for sale for only $1,295 much less than the cost of one of their cooktops.…
