Brand Convert - Clinique

By Sarahhhp @SarahhhP

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we all tend to have our own favorite brands of make up/skincare/clothing... you name it. And at the same time, we also have names that we either tend to steer clear of or that we have never ventured into investing in.
Where the latter is concerned, in my case at least - step forward Clinique.
The first thing I picked up from them was one of their 'Chubby Sticks' in the shade '15 Pudgy Peony'. A stunning fuchsia pink with moisturising balmy formula - I was sold, especially after seeing the beautiful Kate from Ghostparties sporting it in one of her videos. Being a fellow fair skinned gal I felt sure that it could work for me and luckily I was right.
Fast forward a good six months and despite being impressed with this initial purchase, I never really thought about trying anything else from the brand, for no real reason other than that nothing specific had ever caught my eye. However, this all changed when I decided to embrace a weekly fake tanning ritual and as part of this wanted to incorporate a scrub to make sure my skin was silky smooth before application. I remembered a review I had read that raved about the 'Sparkle Skin' cream and thought I may as well give it a go and boy was I impressed. It has a really fine texture to it that allows you get the job done without it feeling as though you've scrubbed so hard that your skin's about to peel off. It also has a lovely cooling feeling after application which is mirrored in the slight 'minty' scent it has - nothing overpowering mind.
After this I wanted to try some additional products in the Clinique skincare range, so picked up the 'Take the Day Off' cleansing balm and the 'Moisture Surge - Extended Thirst Relief' gel moisturiser. I had completely run out of my usual balm cleansers (I normally opt for either the Ren or the Emma Hardie offerings) and so wanted to try something new. I've only been using this one for just over a week but so far so good and I am particularly impressed with how little you need in order to achieve the desired result.
In addition, I was swept up in the latest outpouring of blogger appreciation for the gel moisturiser and as I recently ran out of my all time favorite Origins Ginzeng I thought I'd mix it up a bit and try something a bit different. I've really been loving this, again, mainly because of how refreshing it feels to apply and have a feeling it may well turn out to be one of my 'holy grail' items in time to come.
I'd really love to know of some other Clinique products (particularly in the make up range) that are worth checking out, so please feel free to recommend!
Are there any brands out there that you've yet to try but that you think you might be missing out on by not giving a go?
