It was revealed during a magisterial investigation in Attanagalla that the body of a girl who had committed suicide in the middle of the night had been dumped in a thicket by her boyfriend.
Veyangoda Police had recently found the body of a 20-year-old girl named Shashini Gayatri, a resident of Ranaviru village in Wathupitivala, in a thicket in Pinnagolla Estate.
It was revealed that the deceased was staying alone in a room of a house in the Danvilana area of Veyangoda. It is reported that she had committed suicide in the room on Sunday and a person identified as her boyfriend had taken the body to a hospital on his motorcycle. A friend of his accompanied him. However, as they had run out of fuel they had placed the body in a thicket and had gone to the police station.
