Sometimes, all I want to do on the weekends is pull out my most comfortable duds for exploring local farmer's markets and grabbing lunch with friends. In DC, there's a time and place for dressing up at farmer's markets (don't believe me? Go to Eastern Market on a weekend), but sometimes I just don't have the patience for it. So when I dropped by Gap last weekend and saw that they were having a sale on their boyfriend shorts, I knew I had to grab a couple pairs. They're the perfect casual weekend short! Just the right amount of slouch, some artful distressing, and a casual wash, they're definitely going to be a staple this summer.
They're also the perfect length. I don't understand why so many retailers are still only selling really short shorts. For those who aren't very tall or have really thin legs, a 3" inseam might work just fine. But on someone of my height and size (I rode horses for 11 years and currently bike - I have thighs. Fact of life), I need something a little longer - hot pants are not appropriate. But my only other option seems to be board short-length shorts. Which is also fine. Just not my style. But these are great! My mission is now to find all other shorts of this length that I can get my hands on!
