Bowser Beer - A Brew for Your Barking Buddy

By Petslady @petslady

This scene from one of my all-time favorite films, Strange Brew, shows something that I don't really advocate for pet owners (or beer drinkers, for that matter) to engage in.  Alcohol can be a bad thing for a pet, as it causes all of the same effects that it does in humans--except that humans know what to expect.  Couple that with the fact that a pet is generally much smaller than a human and that makes for some dicey judgment on the pet owner's part if he's filling a bowl full of beer for his/her doggy (which is why I love that scene in Strange Brew so much).

So... how do you share a fun drinking experience with your pet?  Well, if you have a dog, you get some Bowser Beer.

Bowser Beer isn't technically beer in the human sense.  It contains no alcohol, no carbonation, and no hops (which can be poisonous to dogs).  Instead the "brewer," 3 Busy Dogs, Inc. use all natural "dog-friendly" ingredients including USDA beef or chicken, Glucosamine, and Malt to create a canine friendly form of beer.  Of course the exact recipe is a secret...

Three different flavors are available: Chicken, Beef, or a Chicken/Beef Combo.  I must admit to liking the name of the chicken flavored concoction: Cock-a-Doodle Brew.

And if you want to personalize this fine beverage,  3 Busy Dogs can provide custom labels.

Seven different templates are available.  All you need to do is send in a picture of your dog.

From the ingredients, I would guess that Bowser Beer would be an unpleasant drinking experience for a human; I'll stick with Ommegang myself.  But... it may be interesting to cook with...
