Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Nude-ist 07
Bourjois is a brand that hardly failed me. I love it and it is a shame that we don’t get all their products here in India. This Rouge Edition lipstick is my first lipstick from Bourjois and soon after their launch, it created quite a storm in the blogosphere.The shade I picked is called Nude-ist. Nude-ist is a soft rosy nude lip color that looks absolutely gorgeous on fair-medium skin tones. It tends to look different on different skin tones and on me; it looks more like a light pink shade than a nude pink. Nevertheless, it is a shade which I am comfortable wearing on a daily basis.
The finish is matte and the formulation is thick and creamy. It comes with a doe-foot applicator that does the job. It goes almost 90% opaque on the first coat itself and I normally don’t go for a second coat. It does not look unnatural and rigid like some of the matte-liquid lipsticks. On application, it sets to a powdery, soft matte finish. Due to its texture, it does accentuate dry patches.
I do not like its fragrance. It smells rusty and metal like. But the good thing is the fragrance is not obvious. You can smell it during application for a few seconds and only when you sniff it deliberately.
Another thing which I am disappointed about is the staying power. Unlike the regular matte lip colours, it does not have an impressive staying power. May be it differs from shade to shade. On me, nude-ist stays for 4-5 hours with mild snacks and drinks in between and I more or less get the same staying power with almost all my lipsticks. It is not transfer resistant.
It was priced at 8.99 GBP (almost INR. 900/-) when I got it. I do think it is worth the price considering the gorgeous shade and the lovely texture.Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Nude-ist 07
