Books, Words and Fantasty Lands.

By Alex_bumptobaby @bumptobaby_blog

As a child one of my very favorite hobbies was to read and then to write. Books always inspired me, they took me off to a fantasy land that only existed in my imagination. And because of this the words within the books always seemed so powerful. I came to love the words. This reflected on my strengths at school.. spelling, English, creative writing.. I was good at them all. I suppose that's why I like to blog now. I am still very much in love with the power of words and I need that creative outlet.
Years have gone by now and I don't have time to read like I use to, in fact I don't know when I last picked up a book and tried. General life busyness plays a part in this downfall and I largely blame my weakness for technology nowadays. Opting for the iPhone over a book is my own fault, but it's something that we probably all do on too many occasions.
I hope that Ethan will read. I hope that technology won't distract him from the fantasy worlds that lay await within the pages of story books. I'll feel disappointed if he doesn't, but I'll understand and I'll do my very best to encourage him through the likes book week fancy dress costumes for children  and book week fancy dress costumes for adults, yeah.. I'll even join in. Dressing up in character seems to me to be an absolutely wonderfully enchanting way to capture the minds of children, helping to bring story books to life.
Because as we get older and our lives become busier and we take on more responsibilities, as adults we no longer have time for make-believe and fantasy words. So as a child, I believe it's important that we spend a great deal of time enjoying the time we do have to spend in magical worlds with secret gardens and friendly talking animals..
