I was pleasantly surprised to find The Red Apple at the library. It is written and illustrated by Feridun Oral one of our favorite Turkish writers. I wasn't aware his book is translated.
The Red Apple is the story of a rabbit that leaves his burrow in search of food. He sees an apple out of reach so he asks for help from his friends. We get to meet different animals from the forest. With some collaboration they finally reach the apple and feed themselves.
We read this book in Turkish before and we also have another one written by Feridun Oral:The Story of The Hedgehog and The Chestnut. This book has a similar story line which we love.
The illustrations are soft and gorgeous, too. A heartwarming wintery tale.
What have you been reading and enjoying with your children lately? I would love it if you come and share with us. Feel free to grab my button (on the right hand side) and share the love.
